These Terms of Service govern your booking and use of services provided by The Salt Rim, a mobile bar business based in Irvine, California. By booking an event with us, you agree to these terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
When you submit a booking request, pay a deposit, or confirm an event date with The Salt Rim, you accept these terms on behalf of yourself and your event hosts. If you're booking on behalf of a company, you confirm that you're authorized to bind that company to this agreement.
2. Services Provided
The Salt Rim is a BYOB (Bring Your Own Booze) mobile bar service. You supply the alcohol; we bring the craft, the tools, the mixers, the garnish, the ice, and the bartenders. We offer two core packages:
- Drop-Off Bar — self-serve kit delivered Friday, picked up Sunday. Includes pre-batched mixes, tools, branded acrylic cups, garnish kit, ice, and recipe cards. $100 refundable tool deposit applies.
- Custom — 4-hour fully themed, staffed bar with branded acrylic cups, 3 cocktails you pick or rename, themed menu cards and garnish.
Specific inclusions are listed on the package detail page at the time of booking and will be restated in your booking confirmation.
3. Booking, Deposit & Payment
To lock your date, we require:
- A 50% deposit of the package total for the Custom package, paid at the time of booking via Square.
- The remaining balance is due 30 days before your event date. For bookings made within 30 days of the event, the full balance is due at booking.
- A $100 refundable tool deposit for the Drop-Off Bar, released once tools are returned undamaged.
We accept credit/debit cards through Square. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. Travel fees, overtime, add-ons, and any balance owed for damage beyond the deposit will be billed to the card on file after the event.
4. Cancellation & Rescheduling
Cancellation refunds follow a sliding scale based on how far out you cancel. Full details live on our Refund & Cancellation Policy. In short:
- 30+ days out: deposit refunded less a $50 processing fee.
- 15–29 days out: 50% of the deposit refunded.
- 14 days or less: deposit is non-refundable.
- Day-of cancellation: deposit non-refundable and balance still due.
If we have to cancel or reschedule (extremely rare, and typically only for force majeure events), you get a full refund or a credit toward a future booking — your call.
5. Alcohol & Guest Responsibility
Because The Salt Rim operates as a BYOB service, the client is legally responsible for the alcohol served at their event, including ensuring it was lawfully obtained and that it is served only to guests aged 21 and over.
Our bartenders will:
- Card any guest who appears to be under 30.
- Refuse service to any guest who is visibly intoxicated.
- Refuse service to any minor, regardless of parental permission.
- Stop service entirely if the event becomes unsafe or non-compliant.
The client agrees to indemnify The Salt Rim against any claim arising from the consumption of alcohol by their guests, except where the claim is caused by our own gross negligence or willful misconduct.
6. Property Damage
All packages are served in branded acrylic cups, so there's no glassware to break. The client is responsible for any damage to Salt Rim equipment (bar structure, tools, serving trays) caused by guests or event staff outside our control. We'll document damage on-site before we leave, and any repair or replacement cost beyond the tool deposit will be billed to the card on file.
7. Force Majeure
Neither party is liable for failure to perform due to events beyond reasonable control: severe weather, natural disasters, public-health orders, governmental restrictions, venue closures caused by the above, or similar. If a force majeure event makes the event impossible or unsafe, we'll work with you on a mutual reschedule at no penalty, or issue a full refund if a reschedule isn't practical.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by California law, The Salt Rim's total liability for any claim arising from your event is capped at the amount you actually paid us for that event. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (lost profits, lost enjoyment, reputational harm, etc.). This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Service Area
We serve Orange County, California as our primary service area. We'll gladly travel outside OC — travel fees apply based on distance and setup complexity, and will be quoted in writing before you confirm.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in a state or federal court located in Orange County, California.
